About Lauren
Lauren Drayton trained at Emory College before earning her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2009. She completed a traditional legal education that combined classroom work and practical skills training. The law degree set the stage for a career centered in Georgia.
After law school Drayton began practicing in Georgia. She is admitted to the Georgia bar and has spent her career working on matters that touch everyday financial life. Her early years in practice gave her direct exposure to client counseling and transactional work, shaping a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes outside of court when possible.
Drayton’s experience includes a role at DebtStoppers USA. There she handles consumer debt matters, helping clients understand options such as negotiated settlements, debt management plans, and other alternatives to litigation. Her work involves reviewing accounts, communicating with creditors and collection agencies, and outlining possible paths forward for individuals facing unsecured debt.
Colleagues describe her as steady under pressure. She takes a case-by-case approach and aims for solutions that align with a client’s financial reality. When matters do require formal proceedings, she prepares written submissions and coordinates with outside counsel as needed. The practice requires combining legal analysis with plainspoken explanations for clients. That is a style she has kept since leaving law school.
Drayton works from DebtStoppers USA’s Atlanta office. She serves clients throughout the state of Georgia. Her daily practice weaves together negotiation skills, documentation review and client advising. Clients tend to seek her out for matters that call for practical debt resolution rather than aggressive litigation.
Outside the office she follows developments in consumer finance law and updates her approach as statutes and enforcement policies change. She has stayed anchored to a career built around consumer debt issues, keeping her practice responsive to shifts in the market and the needs of people facing financial stress. She practices in Georgia from the Atlanta office and concentrates on consumer debt relief and related matters.
