About Laura P
Laura P Lunn began her academic path at Colgate University, where she studied Peace and Conflict Studies and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2007. She went on to earn her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2011. Those years set the stage for a career focused on immigration law and advocacy.
After law school, Lunn clerked for the Executive Office for Immigration Review at the Department of Justice in 2011. The clerkship put her inside the federal immigration adjudicatory system at an early stage of her career. She moved from the courtroom into private practice and nonprofit roles over the next decade, alternating between direct client work and organizational leadership.
In 2014 she joined Immigrant Law Group, PC as an associate. That role was followed by a position at Lichter Immigration, PC in 2016, where she continued handling client matters. Also in 2016 she served as Interim Managing Lawyer for the CARA Pro Bono Project, a role that involved overseeing volunteer representation and case intake during a period of heightened need for legal services.
Lunn taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2019. Her time in the classroom complemented her practice, giving students exposure to immigration practice issues and to strategies lawyers use in administrative and removal proceedings.
In 2022 she took on the role of Director of Advocacy & Litigation at the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network. That position combines management responsibilities with litigation, and places her in a central role on impact cases and strategic advocacy in the immigration field.
Lunn is licensed to practice in Oregon. Her career reflects steady movement between litigation, training, and management roles in nonprofit and private settings. She has experience in asylum and removal defense contexts, administrative proceedings and supervising pro bono programs.
She currently works at the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network, where her practice centers on immigration advocacy and litigation.
