About Laura Lynn

Laura Lynn Horton is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1992. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Horton is the founder and managing partner of Horton Law Firm, APC, a law firm located in Northridge, California. She has been practicing law for over 33 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area and surrounding regions.

Ms. Horton earned her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1991. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1987. During her time at Pepperdine, she developed a strong foundation in legal principles, which has been instrumental in her successful legal career.

Ms. Horton concentrates her practice in the areas of employment law and personal injury. She represents individuals in matters involving wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour violations, and other employment-related disputes. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.

Throughout her career, Ms. Horton has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the United States Supreme Court. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as a defense attorney, acquiring a national reputation for litigating sports and recreational liability cases across the United States and internationally.

Ms. Horton is an active member of several professional organizations, including the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), where she serves as Chair of the Executive Board. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. Ms. Horton has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" by Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine since 2010 and holds an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
