About LaSheena M.
LaSheena M. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology and criminal justice from Towson University in 2010, then continued her legal education at Howard University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2013. Her academic path combined social science and law, shaping an interest in how legal systems intersect with individuals and families.
She moved into private practice after law school. In 2014 she joined JM Blattner LLC, where she handled a mix of matters that helped her build courtroom and client-facing experience. Two years later she opened the Law Office of LaSheena M. Williams, P.C., establishing an independent practice based in Rockville. The firm has served clients across the region since 2016.
Williams is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia and is admitted to the Federal Circuit. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in state courts and certain federal matters. Her work in multiple jurisdictions reflects a practice that spans local family and criminal matters as well as litigated issues that reach federal panels.
Her involvement in bar groups goes beyond membership. She has held elected and appointed positions at several local and state bar organizations. Since 2021 she has served in a leadership role with the Bar Foundation of Montgomery County, having previously been secretary for the foundation from 2021 to 2022. She has been part of the Bar Association of Montgomery County since 2014 and served on its executive committee as secretary from 2020 to 2021.
Williams has also been active in the Maryland State Bar Association, representing Circuit 4 on the Solo and Small Firm Council since 2019, and participating on the Public Awareness Committee. Her involvement with the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association has included work on the Judicial Nomination Committee and service as corresponding secretary and public relations chair at various times.
Her engagement extends to continuing legal education and professional development. She has been involved with CLE and community outreach committees, and she holds an associate membership in an Inns of Court chapter. Earlier in her career she served as Co-Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers Division Criminal Justice Committee of the American Bar Association in 2011–2012.
Colleagues describe her as methodical and organized in court preparation and client communication. She represents individuals in family and criminal matters and handles related litigation across Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the Federal Circuit. She maintains a practice concentrating on family law and criminal matters in those jurisdictions.
