About Lana D.
Lana D. Crump earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1992 and completed her law degree at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 1995. Those years in Baton Rouge set the foundation for a legal career that has centered on litigation and court work. She left law school prepared to practice in both state and federal forums.
She became a partner at Kean Miller LLP in 1995 and has remained with the firm. Her time there covers trial preparation, motion practice and appearances in a variety of courts. Colleagues describe her as steady in the courtroom and exacting in written work. She has handled matters that required coordination across multiple jurisdictions and federal districts.
Crump is admitted in several courts that shape litigation in the region. Her admissions include the State of Louisiana and the State of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is also admitted in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. That range of admissions allows her to accept cases that travel through state courts and federal appellate channels.
Her professional memberships reflect a mix of defense, ethics and industry-focused organizations. She holds membership in the Defense Research Institute and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. She is a fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. On the specialties side, she belongs to the Propane Gas Defense Association and the Southeastern Women in Financial Services (SWIFS). She also maintains membership in the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
Throughout her career Crump has balanced litigation in local and federal venues while maintaining ties to state bar activities and industry groups. She continues to practice at Kean Miller LLP, handling matters in the state and federal courts where she is admitted and representing clients across those jurisdictions.
