About L. Javan

L. Javan Grant graduated from Stetson University College of Law, where he completed the rigorous coursework and training required for legal practice. His time at Stetson provided a foundation in courtroom procedure, legal research and writing, and the practical skills new lawyers need to start their careers. He left law school prepared to enter private practice in Florida.

He began his professional career at Slater I Grant. There he gained exposure to day-to-day litigation work and client counseling. The firm environment allowed him to handle filings, draft motions, and participate in case strategy discussions. Over time he took on greater responsibilities and worked directly with clients on matters arising under Florida law.

Licensed to practice in Florida, Grant has maintained active membership in at least one professional association. That participation has kept him connected to peers and developments in the legal community. He attends meetings and contributes to discussions that affect practice in the state, and he has used those professional ties to stay current on procedural changes and evolving case law.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical and practical. He prepares documents carefully and prioritizes clear communication with clients and opposing counsel. He reviews statutory text and precedent, then applies them to the facts at hand. He balances court filings with client needs and seeks to present his positions succinctly in briefs and hearings.

Throughout his time at Slater I Grant he has worked on a range of matters that arise in Florida courts. He has been involved in pretrial preparation and has supported trial-level work when cases proceed that far. He also handles client inquiries, explains legal options, and assists in developing strategies that reflect a client’s objectives and the realities of litigation.

Grant’s daily practice is rooted in the procedural and substantive rules that govern Florida matters. He spends substantial time researching law, drafting pleadings and motions, and preparing evidence for court. He also coordinates with opposing counsel and court staff to move cases forward. He currently practices at Slater I Grant, concentrating on legal matters in Florida.
