About Kylee
Kylee Tokoi took a straightforward route into law. She completed a Bachelor of Arts at Colorado State University in 2019 and earned her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 2022. Those years set a foundation in legal research and writing that she has built on in practice.
After law school she moved into practice in Kansas. She is admitted to practice there and maintains current professional association memberships. Early in her career she focused on mastering the fundamentals of client counseling, pleadings and courtroom procedure. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and pragmatic when weighing options for clients.
Her work life centers at Joseph, Hollander & Craft, where she joined the firm after completing law school. At the firm she handles a mix of client matters, contributing to case strategy, drafting court filings, and preparing for hearings. She spends much of her time researching legal issues and translating complex statutes and precedents into practical advice for clients and fellow attorneys.
Tokoi’s academic background informs how she approaches cases. The Colorado State undergraduate experience gave her a broad liberal arts base, while Washburn’s law program sharpened procedural skills. The transition from student to practitioner was rapid. She has focused on building courtroom readiness and an attention to procedural detail rather than on headline-grabbing litigation.
Outside the office she keeps up ties to professional groups and continuing legal education. That ongoing involvement helps her stay current on changes in Kansas law and on best practices for case management. It also provides a forum for networking with other lawyers and judges in the state.
Her day-to-day practice involves client interviews, drafting and review of documents, and courtroom preparation. She balances those tasks with research and collaboration inside the firm. Her current practice focuses on serving clients at Joseph, Hollander & Craft in Kansas.
