About Kyle L.

Kyle L. Epting practices law across the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. He came to the work through study and steady steps in courthouse and firm halls. His training combined law and social science. He earned a B.S. in psychology and sociology from the University of Florida in 2003. He then returned to legal study at George Mason University, completing a J.D. in 2007 with a litigation emphasis.

Those early years after law school were shaped by a mix of clerkships, internships and small-firm practice. In 2006 he interned for the Office of the Honorable Addison Graves Wilson. He served as a law clerk at Burnham & Gorokhov, PLLC in 2008. In 2010 he took on multiple roles: an internship at the Virginia Court of Appeals, and a fellowship at the National Federation of Independent Business – Small Business Legal Center. That year he also worked as an associate at Arlington Law Group, an experience he returned to later in his career.

Epitng moved into firm practice as an associate at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott in 2012, and became a partner at Arlington Law Group in 2013. Those positions exposed him to civil litigation and transactional matters across state and federal venues. He has maintained a local professional presence as a member of the Arlington County Bar Association since 2011.

In 2020 he joined The Elder and Disability Law Center as a lawyer. That role marks a shift from broad litigation work to issues affecting older adults and people with disabilities. He also holds a Notary Public commission in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a practical credential for work that often touches estate documents and powers of attorney.

Epting is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. His background in psychology and sociology informs a pragmatic approach to cases that combine legal, medical and personal dynamics. He has handled matters that require both courtroom work and careful client counseling. Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation and thorough in preparation.

Today Epting handles matters at The Elder and Disability Law Center and continues to appear in courts and administrative proceedings in his three jurisdictions. He currently focuses on elder and disability law.
