About Kyle D.
Kyle D. Smith studied the American legal system as an undergraduate and went on to earn his law degree from UCLA School of Law. His academic path began at Northern Arizona University, where he received a B.S. in 2003. He completed his J.D. in 2009 and entered the profession shortly thereafter.
After law school, Smith joined Alvarez-Glasman & Colvin as an associate in 2011. He spent that period learning the daily demands of practice, handling client matters and gaining experience in case preparation and courtroom procedures. The role gave him an early look at how mid-size firms manage client relations, discovery and motion practice.
In 2012 he launched his own practice, operating under the name Kyle D. Smith, Lawyer at Law. He has run that office since then, overseeing day-to-day operations and representing clients in matters across California. Along the way he has navigated the practical challenges of running a small firm, from intake and billing to developing a caseload and maintaining client communication.
Smith is admitted to practice in California. He works from offices in Los Angeles and Orange County, maintaining a presence in both regions to serve a diverse client base. That geographic reach allows him to appear in various state venues and manage filings across Southern California.
His background combines formal legal education and early experience at a larger firm with the responsibilities of solo practice. The transition from associate to firm owner reshaped how he approaches case management and client service. It also altered the balance of tasks he handles personally versus those he delegates or outsources.
