About Kyle D.

Kyle D. Sellett built a legal foundation in classrooms and in entry-level jobs. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011, and later received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2015. Those years framed a transition from hospitality and campus work into the practice of law.

His early legal experience began while he was still in school. He worked as a law clerk in 2013 at Petro & Associates, gaining front-line exposure to client files and courtroom procedures. After finishing law school, he joined Blitt & Gaines Law Offices as an associate in 2015. He remained there through 2017 and took on greater responsibilities, moving into a supervising lawyer role that involved oversight of junior staff and case preparation.

Sellett continued to broaden his courtroom and office experience when he joined Anderson and Associates, P.C. He returned to an associate role in 2018 and remained with the firm as he advanced. In 2021 he was named a partner at Anderson and Associates. A year later he moved to Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC, where he became a partner in 2022. That progression traces a steady climb through litigation support, file management, and firm leadership responsibilities.

Outside the office he carried jobs common to many students, including service positions at the Illini Union Rec Room and a local lounge. Those roles are often omitted from professional biographies, but they shaped his work habits and grounded his early career with practical customer-service experience.

He is admitted to practice in Illinois and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Locally, he maintains memberships in the DuPage County Bar Association and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect both geographic ties and an investment in the legal community where he practices.

Colleagues describe his path as one of steady responsibility, from law clerk to supervising lawyer to partner. He has handled a range of trial and pretrial tasks across multiple firms, and he has been involved in training and supervising less-experienced attorneys. At Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC he is part of the partnership team that manages client files and litigation strategy. His current practice focuses on representing clients in matters before Illinois state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
