About Kurt
Kurt Zaner earned his J.D. from the University of Florida in 2005 and has spent his legal career in the field of personal injury law. He moved from law school into civil practice and rose to partnership at Zaner Harden Personal Injury Lawyers in 2012. His path has been shaped by courtroom work, advocacy for injured clients, and service inside professional organizations that set standards for trial lawyers.
Early in his career he concentrated on the procedural and tactical aspects of litigation. That experience informed his approach to case preparation and to working with expert witnesses and medical evidence. Over time his role expanded from casework to leadership at his firm, where he handles complex files and mentors more junior attorneys. Becoming a partner in 2012 marked a shift toward managing larger caseloads and helping to set firm strategy.
Zaner has been active in professional groups for trial attorneys. He served on the American Association for Justice Board of Governors from 2018 to 2020 and again beginning in 2022; his current term runs through 2025. He has also been involved with the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, holding an elected board position tied to the 2016–2022 period and remaining engaged in the organization’s work. Those roles reflect a sustained interest in the institutional side of trial practice and in policies that affect civil litigation.
Colleagues describe his courtroom style as methodical. He prepares cases with an emphasis on clear timelines, supported by documentation and witness accounts. He pursues settlements when they meet a client's needs, and he takes cases to trial when the facts and law point that way. His daily work balances depositions, motion practice, and negotiation.
Outside the courtroom he participates in continuing education offered through bar-related groups and attends workshops that address medical demonstration and jury persuasion. He brings those tools back to his files, using demonstrative evidence and expert testimony where they strengthen a claim. He also spends time training associates at Zaner Harden, helping them master the practical tasks of litigation.
Kurt Zaner practices at Zaner Harden Personal Injury Lawyers and focuses his practice on representing individuals injured in accidents and other civil matters involving negligence. He currently practices at Zaner Harden Personal Injury Lawyers, focusing on personal injury representation.
