About Kristine
Kristine Calalang graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 2004. She entered the legal community in Pennsylvania and has built a career that blends practice, dispute resolution and bar leadership. Early on she joined the Villanova Law J. Willard O’Brien American Inn of Court; that membership dates back to 2003 and has remained part of her professional life.
Her work in alternative dispute resolution began in the mid-2000s. In 2007 she served as an arbitrator for the First Judicial District Arbitration Center. She opened her own practice in 2012, founding the Law Office of Kristine L. Calalang. Five years later she added mediator to her roster of roles, taking on mediation work in 2017. Those positions point to an attorney comfortable handling contested matters outside of a courtroom and inside it.
Calalang’s involvement in organized bar work is extensive. She has held leadership positions at the Philadelphia Bar Association, including serving as Chair of the Board of Governors in 2022 and Vice Chair of the Board of Governors in 2021. She chaired the Family Law Section in 2019 and has co-chaired several committees focused on custody and diversity. At the state level she is active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association, serving in the House of Delegates as a Zone 1 Delegate and co-chairing the Legal Academics Committee since 2021. Her board roles extend to Villanova Law, where she sits on the Alumni Association board and advises the Minority Alumni Leadership Board. She is also a board member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania and has co-chaired APABA-PA committees devoted to solo and small firm issues and community outreach.
Colleagues see a practitioner who combines courtroom experience with dispute resolution skills. Over the years Calalang has remained connected to family law circles: she belongs to family law sections in both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations, serves as a diversity liaison on various committees and has been involved in custody-related work through committee leadership. She has also engaged with broader professional education efforts, including editorial work for the Young Lawyers Editorial Board of the Legal Intelligencer.
Her private practice is run under the Law Office of Kristine L. Calalang. She maintains memberships in local and national bar organizations, and she continues to serve on multiple boards and committees. Currently she practices in Pennsylvania, concentrating on family law matters and alternative dispute resolution.
