About Kristin
Kristin Lis built a career that moved quickly from courtrooms to private practice. She studied elementary and special education at LaSalle University, earning her B.A. in 1999. She then turned to law, completing her J.D. at Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 2009.
Her first role after law school was as a law clerk in the Family Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Atlantic County. She worked for P.J.F.P. and saw the workings of family court up close. That clerkship led to an associate position at Adams & Adams in 2010, where she handled family matters and learned the mechanics of client representation.
Within a year she opened her own practice. In 2011 she founded the Law Office of Kristin M. Lis, LLC and served as owner and principal. Over time she expanded and reshaped the practice, becoming a partner at Smedley & Lis in 2015. The partnership offered broader resources and a heavier docket of family law cases. In 2019 she took on a senior associate role at Petrelli Previtera, LLC, bringing experience from private practice back into a firm environment.
In 2023 she joined Netsquire. Her listing there is recorded as Lawyer. The move reflects another shift in an already varied career. She has been active in county and state bar groups since early in her career. She holds memberships in the New Jersey State Bar Association and in county bar associations in Gloucester and Atlantic counties. She is also listed as a founding member of the Amicable Divorce Network’s New Jersey membership in 2023.
Those memberships mirror the types of matters she has handled. Her practice centers on family law, including divorce, custody, and related domestic relations issues. She has experience in both contested litigation and negotiated settlements. Clients have encountered her work in courtroom settings, at mediation tables, and in drafting agreements.
Her approach is pragmatic. She draws on courtroom experience from the clerkship and years of private practice. She has alternated between solo practice and firm roles, which has given her a view of family law from multiple angles.
She currently practices at Netsquire and remains admitted in New Jersey. She represents clients in family law matters and in related areas arising from domestic relations cases.
