About Kristin Cantrell
Kristin Cantrell Varner is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Varner is a senior attorney at Varner & Brandt LLP, a law firm located in Riverside, California. She has been practicing law for over 25 years, serving clients throughout the Inland Empire region.
Ms. Varner earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, in 2000. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, cum laude, in 1996. During her time at UCLA, she developed a strong foundation in political science, which has informed her legal practice.
Ms. Varner concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate law, environmental law, and municipal law. She represents public and private clients in matters involving land acquisition, use and development, leasing, redevelopment, and affordable housing finance and development. Her practice encompasses all stages of the real estate development process, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Varner has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Riverside, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to joining Varner & Brandt LLP, she worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Riverside for five years.
Ms. Varner is an active member of the Riverside County Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. She holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. She is also a member of the California Redevelopment Association. Ms. Varner is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of Riverside County effectively.
