About Kristiana

Kristiana Erthner took an unconventional route to law. She began in the newsroom and the classroom, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from the University of San Diego in 2006. Years later she completed her legal training, receiving a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2014.

Her undergraduate studies left a mark on how she approaches legal work. Reporting taught her to ask precise questions and to sort through facts under pressure. Political science sharpened an eye for systems and procedure. Those skills surfaced again in law school and in the early days of her practice.

After law school she moved into private practice. In 2015 she joined The Grossman Law Office, APC as an associate. In that role she handled client matters, prepared filings, and worked on case strategy alongside more senior attorneys. The job placed her squarely in the day-to-day mechanics of litigation and client counseling.

Erthner is authorized to practice in California. Her career has been rooted in the state’s courts and administrative systems. Colleagues describe her as a careful writer and a lawyer who pays close attention to deadlines and procedural detail. Her background in journalism shows up in how she organizes argument and summarizes complex material for clients and courts.

She has navigated the transition from reporting and academic study to courtroom procedure and client advocacy. The work requires different rhythms. In journalism, deadlines and clarity dominate. In law, argument and precedent matter. Erthner’s path has required her to move between both sets of demands.

Outside the office she has remained engaged with professional colleagues and ongoing legal education, maintaining current membership in relevant associations. The profile of her career is one of steady practice rather than publicity, a steady accumulation of courtroom experience and drafting work since joining the firm.

Today she continues to practice law in California as an associate at The Grossman Law Office, APC, where she handles matters consistent with the firm’s work and represents clients in state practice.
