About Kristen

Kristen Fisher earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. She completed the program at a school known for practical skills training and courtroom simulation. Those experiences shaped her transition into day-to-day legal work.

She is an attorney with Shoults, Picard & Brooks, PLLC and practices out of the firm's Caro office. At the firm she works alongside other attorneys handling a range of matters that come through the office. The firm affiliation places her in a general practice environment where both transactional and litigation tasks arise.

Fisher's early career emphasized courtroom procedure and document preparation. She regularly prepares pleadings, motions and client correspondence. She also conducts legal research and drafts memoranda that inform client decisions. These tasks reflect the routine work of many lawyers who split time between client meetings and case development.

In client work she aims for clarity. She explains options in plain language and sets expectations about timing and likely next steps. Her work includes advising clients on procedural questions and responding to opposing counsel. When matters proceed to court, she assists with filings and courtroom preparation.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in handling deadlines and attentive to factual detail. Those qualities guide the daily work in a small office setting, where attorneys must manage a variety of files at once. She participates in the internal case review process and coordinates with support staff to keep matters moving.

Outside the office, she maintains ties to the legal community through continuing education and routine networking at the regional level. That ongoing engagement helps her stay current on procedural changes and local court practices. It also supports the practical needs of clients who rely on timely, procedural knowledge.

In 2026 she continues to practice at Shoults, Picard & Brooks, PLLC, based in the Caro office. Her current practice focuses on the matters handled by that office and the firm as a whole.
