About Kim

Kim Shouppe earned her Juris Doctor in 1995 from Mississippi College School of Law. She built her legal foundation there and moved into public service work early in her career. The law school degree set the stage for a practice focused on criminal law and courtroom work.

She began her public-sector career as an assistant state lawyer. In that role she gained experience on the prosecution side, handling a range of criminal cases for the state. Later she joined the Office of Criminal Conflict Counsel as a criminal defense lawyer, switching perspectives and representing clients when conflicts arose for public defenders. Those back-to-back roles exposed her to multiple facets of the criminal justice system.

After years in state service, she founded Shouppe Law and now serves as owner and lawyer there. Running a small practice has meant managing both client representation and the administrative duties that come with operating a law office. Her work day can range from court appearances to case preparation and client consultations.

Shouppe holds membership in several professional organizations. She is a member of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida. Locally, she belongs to the Bay County Bar Association. She also maintains memberships in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, including the Bay County chapter, and in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those affiliations provide access to continuing legal education and peer networks.

Her career reflects time on both sides of criminal cases. As an assistant state lawyer she worked on prosecutions. As a criminal defense lawyer she represented individuals in contested matters. That dual exposure informs how she evaluates cases and prepares for hearings and trials.

Colleagues and clients describe her practice as steady and practical. She handles motions, plea negotiations, and courtroom work in criminal matters. She has experience in trial preparation and the procedural steps that criminal cases require.

In her current role at Shouppe Law she manages client matters and represents individuals in criminal cases. She practices in Florida and participates in bar and court memberships that align with that jurisdiction. She currently focuses on criminal defense at Shouppe Law.
