About Kiley
Kiley Whitty began her path to the law in the Midwest. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Speech Communication from Miami University of Ohio in 2006. Three years later she completed a J.D. at Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2009. Those formative years shaped a practice rooted in Illinois courts and federal districts.
Her early legal work started soon after graduation. In 2009 she joined Anderson & Associates P.C., where she handled a range of matters for the firm’s clients. Several years into her career she moved to Lillig & Thorsness, Ltd. in 2017 and continued to deepen her courtroom and transactional experience. Each position added new practical skills and courtroom familiarity.
Whitty holds admission to the Illinois bar and to two federal trial courts: the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Those admissions have allowed her to take on both state and federal matters, and to represent clients in a variety of procedural settings.
Outside the office she has taken active roles in local bar organizations. She served as President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers in 2015 and has remained involved since then. Her leadership in the DuPage County Bar Association includes time as Second Vice President from 2019 to 2020, Assistant Treasurer on the Executive Committee in 2015–2016, and Chair of the New Lawyer Division in 2013–2014. She also served on the DuPage County Bar Foundation board as a director from 2011 to 2014.
Those volunteer roles reflect a steady engagement with the legal community in DuPage County. Colleagues describe her as someone who moves between committee work and client files without losing sight of practical results. She has helped mentor newer attorneys and taken part in local bar programming aimed at lawyer development and public education about the law.
Her practice has ranged across litigation and transactional matters, and she has courtroom experience in state and federal venues. Over time she has handled cases and client matters that require both negotiation and litigation strategy. She approaches each matter by assessing the procedural landscape and choosing an appropriate path for the client.
She currently practices at Laraia & Whitty, PC, where she handles state and federal matters and remains active in DuPage County legal organizations.
