About Kevin
Kevin Williams graduated from Butler University in 1999 with a B.S. in Finance and earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2003. He went straight into legal work after law school and has built a steady career in Illinois since the early 2000s. His academic background in finance informs how he approaches cases, especially those that raise transactional or money-related questions.
He has been a member of the Illinois State Bar Association since 2006. That affiliation has been a steady part of his professional life and reflects ongoing engagement with the state’s legal community. Between 2011 and 2014 he volunteered with KCBA Cares, taking part in community legal service efforts through that program.
In 2010 he established The Law Office of Kevin Williams and has served as owner and lawyer there since. Running a solo practice required shifting frequently between courtroom work, client counseling and the routine tasks of running a small office. That mix of responsibilities shaped the practical side of his practice and the kinds of matters his office handles day to day.
Over time his work has blended aspects of litigation and transactional practice. He has handled client matters that call for legal research, negotiation and drafting of documents, as well as representation in contested proceedings when needed. Colleagues and clients have relied on him for clear explanations and steady attention to procedural detail. He has also drawn on his finance training when addressing contractual issues or other business-related legal problems.
Outside the office, his volunteer service with KCBA Cares gave him direct experience with pro bono intake and community outreach. That period exposed him to a range of client needs beyond what he saw in private practice, and it informed how he structures initial client interviews and case assessments at his own firm.
Now in practice in Illinois, he maintains The Law Office of Kevin Williams and continues to serve clients from the firm’s office. His current practice concentrates on serving clients in Illinois across a range of civil and transactional matters.
