About Kevin
Kevin Sanborn trained as a lawyer at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he completed his Juris Doctor in 2005. He moved from law school into courtroom work and has since built a practice shaped by state and federal procedure. His education provided a foundation for work that spans Illinois trial courts and higher tribunals.
Early in his career Sanborn pursued admissions that would allow him to handle matters beyond the state level. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and has obtained credentials to appear before the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect a practice that involves appellate and federal litigation as well as state-court work. He has navigated civil procedure and appellate rules in multiple forums.
Sanborn has held memberships in professional associations and maintains current involvement in bar-related groups. He has participated in the professional community in ways that keep him connected to developments in appellate law and federal practice. That engagement has helped him refine the technical side of litigation work and stay current on shifting precedents.
At Johnson Law Group he handles a mix of matters that arise in both state and federal settings. The firm setting gives him regular opportunities to brief appeals, prepare filings for higher courts, and consult on strategy for complex litigation. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and persistent in pursuing procedural clarity. He tends to break problems down into discrete legal questions and to approach each filing with an emphasis on precision.
Clients and other lawyers have relied on him for cases that require familiarity with appellate procedure and the rules of federal court. He has experience preparing petitions and responses for appellate review and working through the prerequisites for certiorari and federal appellate filings. That work often requires a steady attention to deadlines and to the finer points of legal briefing.
Outside the courtroom he has stayed engaged in continuing legal education and in the practical demands of modern litigation. He remains licensed to practice and is active at Johnson Law Group, where he concentrates on appellate and federal court litigation.
