About Kevin

Kevin Rhyne earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Music Business from Belmont University in 1993. He followed that with a law degree from South Texas College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1996. Those two credentials set an uncommon course from music business into the practice of law.

After law school he moved into practice in Texas. Over the years he has maintained an active presence in the state legal community. He is a current member of the State Bar of Texas, and his work has centered on representing clients in matters governed by Texas law.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in the way he approaches a file. He takes time to review the record and map out options. That steadiness has informed how he has handled negotiations and court appearances. He has balanced client interaction with courtroom work, often shifting between the two as cases required.

Rhyne’s background in business and music gives him an unusual mix of perspectives. Early academic training in the business side of the music industry taught him how commercial decisions get made. Law school added procedural rigor. Together those experiences inform how he evaluates disputes and transactional matters, particularly where commercial considerations are central.

He has spent much of his career practicing in Texas courts and administrative forums. His practice has required familiarity with state statutes, rules of procedure and local practice. He keeps current on developments through the State Bar and by following local rulings that affect his clients. He also draws on practical business judgment developed during his undergraduate studies when advising clients on risk and contract issues.

Today he is based at The McGuire Firm. He works with clients across matters that arise under Texas law, and he maintains an active role in the state bar. He practices at The McGuire Firm in Texas.
