About Kevin Gerard

Kevin Gerard Healy built his legal foundation in the study of politics and law. He studied political science at Boston College in 1976 and earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Delaware in 1981. He later completed a Juris Doctor at Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1986. Those years set the stage for a practice that spans trial work, appellate filings and courtroom procedures.

Healy began his post-law school career in the courthouse. He served as a judicial clerk to the Superior Court of Delaware in 1986. The clerkship gave him an insider’s view of trial court operations and the practical demands judges face. He moved into private practice the following year, joining Prickett Jones in 1987. That period allowed him to transition from observation to advocacy.

By 1990 Healy opened his own practice, operating as a sole practitioner under the name Kevin G. Healy, Lawyer-at-law. He ran that practice for a brief period before forming a partnership in 1991 with Healy & Locke. Four years later he joined Morris James LLP as a partner, a role he has held since 1997. Across those moves he handled cases at multiple levels of the bench and built a practice familiar with courtroom work and appellate procedure.

Healy is admitted to practice in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Those admissions reflect a career that has included appeals as well as trial litigation. His professional memberships underscore the practical, courtroom-oriented nature of his work: he has been a member of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association since 1986 and joined the American Association for Justice in the same year. Both memberships have remained active into the present.

His career tracks a steady progression from clerkship to private practice to partnership at a regional law firm. Colleagues and court filings show a lawyer accustomed to both the give-and-take of litigation and the procedural demands of appellate work. He maintains an active role at Morris James LLP, where he continues to handle matters in trial and appellate forums as part of the firm’s practice.
