About Kevin C.
Kevin C. Curry is an accountant turned tax lawyer who built his career at the intersection of numbers and law. He began his academic path at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, earning a B.S. in Accounting in 1991 and a J.D. in 1994. He then returned to school for an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University, completed in 1995.
Curry moved into practice equipped to handle both technical tax matters and the procedural demands of litigation and planning. He is a partner at Kean Miller LLP, where he has taken lead roles on matters that require deep knowledge of tax code and estate administration. His dual academic background informs how he frames client issues—first in terms of the numbers, then in terms of the applicable law.
He holds board certification in Tax Law and in Estate Planning and Administration from the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Those certifications signal an emphasis on complex tax planning, estate administration, and related litigation. Colleagues describe him as methodical. He prefers clear analysis and workmanlike presentations over rhetoric.
Curry’s professional memberships reflect a long-standing engagement in Louisiana’s legal community. He is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has participated in the Louisiana State Law Institute, including work on the Marriage-Persons Committee.
Beyond bar activities, Curry has been active in local civic and educational organizations. He served on the Board of Trustees of St. James Episcopal Day School from 2007 to 2009 and has been Treasurer of St. James Episcopal Church since 2009. He served as President of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Baton Rouge in 2011 and sits on the Board of Directors of Ollie Steele Burden Manor, Inc. He is also a member of the Planned Giving Council of Greater Baton Rouge.
Clients and peers encounter a lawyer comfortable handling the technical demands of tax law and the personal aspects of estate planning. He advises on estate administration, tax planning and probate matters, and he appears in contexts that require certified expertise under Louisiana law.
As a partner at Kean Miller LLP, Curry continues to practice in Louisiana, where his work centers on tax and estate planning matters.
