About Kevin Andrew

Kevin Andrew McQuillan built a steady path to the law. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He then entered Wayne State University Law School in 2011 and received his J.D. in 2014.

After law school, McQuillan took the standard steps to begin practice. He holds a license to practice law from the State Bar of Michigan and is authorized to appear in matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In 2015 he joined Chapman Law Group as a lawyer, where he began working on cases for clients in state and federal forums.

Colleagues describe him as methodical. He approaches matters carefully and prefers clear analysis over flash. He has spent his time at Chapman Law Group handling the kinds of tasks junior and mid-level attorneys most often shoulder: drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, preparing briefs, and supporting trial work when cases progress to court. Those tasks require attention to detail and an ability to track procedural timing, both of which have featured in his practice.

McQuillan’s academic background informs his approach. A political science undergraduate degree offered a foundation in public institutions and the mechanics of government. Law school added litigation and procedural training. He has used that combined background to work on matters that raise questions about statutory interpretation, administrative processes, and appellate procedure. He practices in Michigan courts and appears in the Sixth Circuit when appeals arise.

Outside of courtroom filings, he has been involved in routine client counseling and case management. He spends time preparing clients for hearings and coordinating with experts when specialized testimony is needed. Those aspects of the job occupy much of the day-to-day work at a firm that handles contested matters across a range of legal issues.

McQuillan remains based at Chapman Law Group. He continues to maintain his Michigan bar license and to represent clients in state and federal matters. He practices at Chapman Law Group, where his work involves representing clients in matters before Michigan state courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
