About Keren
Keren Goldenberg studied environmental science before she turned to the law. She earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Toronto in 1999 and completed her J.D. at Northeastern University in 2003. That combination of science and law shaped an early interest in evidence, procedure and careful case preparation.
Her legal career began in New York. In 2003 she joined the Legal Aid Society of New York City, representing clients in criminal matters and learning the pace of public defense work. A year later she moved to Massachusetts and in 2004 took a post with the Committee for Public Counsel Services. That period deepened her courtroom experience and exposed her to a wide range of criminal defense issues across state and local courts.
Goldenberg has remained engaged in the public defense community. Since 2004 she has held memberships in the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Greater Lowell Bar Association. Those memberships reflect steady involvement in local professional circles and ongoing ties to colleagues who handle trial and appellate work.
In 2015 she shifted from institutional practice to private practice and opened The Law Office of Keren Goldenberg. As owner and lawyer, she has handled cases at different stages, from arraignment through trial and, when needed, appeal. Her admissions include the Massachusetts and New York bars as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, allowing her to represent clients in both state and certain federal matters.
Her courtroom background began with indigent defense, and that experience remains visible in how she approaches cases. She has worked on a range of criminal matters, managing investigations, drafting motions and arguing in court. The work calls for attention to detail and readiness for fast-moving deadlines. She has brought that approach to her private practice, where she handles both individual casework and ongoing client relationships.
Colleagues describe her as steady in court and thorough in preparation. She maintains professional memberships that keep her connected to developments in criminal law and trial practice in Massachusetts. Her practice includes representation in state criminal courts and work tied to federal appellate jurisdiction.
She currently practices from The Law Office of Keren Goldenberg, representing people in criminal matters in Massachusetts and New York and in appropriate federal proceedings.
