About Kent

Kent S. Berk is the founder and managing attorney of Berk Law Group, P.C., a Scottsdale-based firm that specializes in probate litigation, estate planning, and elder law. Established in 1996, the firm has become a prominent player in handling complex probate, trust, and estate disputes. Located at 14220 N. Northsight Boulevard, Suite 135, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, Berk Law Group, P.C. is known for its expertise in navigating the details of estate-related matters. Kent earned his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 1992, where he developed his legal skills.

Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance from Arizona State University in 1988. Admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1993, Kent began his legal career with a clerkship under Chief Judge Sherman G. Finesilver of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado — This experience provided him with invaluable insights into the judicial process. Following his clerkship, he joined O’Connor Cavanagh, Arizona's second-largest law firm at the time, where he worked from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, Kent took a significant step by founding Berk Law Group, P.C. His focus on probate litigation encompasses many issues, including disputes over estates, wills, trusts, elder abuse, and guardianships.

Under his leadership, the firm has successfully represented numerous clients, helping them navigate the often emotional and field of probate law. Kent's dedication to his clients and his expertise in the field have earned him recognition, including being named a Super Lawyer from 2013 to 2014 and from 2021 to 2025 for his work in estate planning and probate law. In addition to his legal practice, Kent has made substantial contributions to the Maricopa County Bar Association. In 2023, he received the Robert R. Mills Member of the Year award, acknowledging his dedication to public service and the association. His commitment to the legal community continued to grow, culminating in his election to the Board of Governors of the Maricopa County Bar Association in 2026. Kent's interests extend beyond law.

He co-founded Pure Pickleball, LLC, and was previously an owner of AZ on the Rocks – Indoor Climbing, Inc. His community involvement includes serving as a director for the Arizona Mortgage Lenders Association and as president and director for the Council for Jews With Special Needs, now known as Gesher Disability Resources. Additionally, Kent has a focus on coaching, having led high school and Little League baseball teams. His personal interests include spending quality time with his family, playing pickleball, rock climbing, hiking, pottery, reading, and traveling.
