About Kenneth M.
Kenneth M. Mogill earned both of his degrees from the University of Michigan. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1968 and remained at the law school to receive his J.D. in 1971. Those academic years laid a foundation that has informed a long career split between litigation and legal education.
After law school, Mogill established a practice in Michigan and pursued admission to federal courts. He is admitted to the Michigan bar and holds the ability to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Over decades in practice, he has handled matters that reached appellate levels, giving him experience in briefing and argument on complex legal questions.
Mogill also spent part of his career in academia. He served as a professor at Wayne State University, bringing real-world courtroom perspectives into the classroom. His time in academia included teaching law students and participating in law school programs, bridging practice and instruction. Colleagues and students have noted his willingness to discuss litigation strategy and appellate procedure in practical terms.
In private practice he is associated with Mogill Posner & Cohen. At that firm he has worked on civil litigation matters across a range of issues. His admission to the Sixth Circuit and to the Supreme Court means he has been positioned to handle appeals and filings at multiple levels of the federal judiciary. He has navigated procedural rules and prepared appellate briefs during his years in practice.
Today Mogill continues to practice law through Mogill Posner & Cohen. He brings both trial experience and appellate exposure to client matters. His current practice concentrates on civil litigation and appellate work in Michigan and in the federal courts where he is admitted to appear.
