About Kenneth J.

Kenneth J. Lasky built his academic foundation at the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1981. He went on to study law at William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law and received his J.D. in 1984. Those years of study combined two different fields and shaped how he approaches legal problems: an attention to human behavior paired with formal legal training.

After law school he began practicing in jurisdictions that reflect his ties to both the Mid-Atlantic and the Gulf Coast. He is licensed to practice in Virginia and in Louisiana. Over the course of several decades he has worked in settings that required adapting to two distinct state legal systems and their procedural rules. That adaptability has played a consistent role in his professional life.

Lasky’s background in psychology informs the way he assesses cases and interacts with clients. He pays close attention to the factual record and to how people tell their stories. That perspective is practical rather than theoretical. It affects how he prepares witnesses and how he frames issues for negotiation or for decision makers.

Throughout his career he has navigated the routine demands of private practice alongside the occasional complex file that calls for extended research and careful strategy. He has handled filings, client consultations, discovery tasks and courtroom appearances when required. He has also worked across state lines when matters have involved parties or issues spanning both Louisiana and Virginia, which has required an awareness of differences in procedure and substantive law.

Colleagues describe Lasky as methodical in his preparation. He tends to favor a steady, evidence-based approach and to organize work so that deadlines and obligations are met. He brings the same attention to detail to routine case management as he does to more unusual or time-sensitive matters.

Outside of firm and courtroom settings he has maintained ties to the legal communities in both states through continuing education and professional contacts. Those connections have helped him stay current on developments in state law and practice.

He currently practices law in Louisiana and in Virginia, handling matters that arise under the laws of those two states.
