About Kelvin K.

Kelvin K. Lee built his early academic foundation at the University of California, Los Angeles. He earned a B.A. in Geography in 1982, followed by an M.A. in Urban Planning in 1986. He completed his legal training at UCLA School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1987.

His career moved into public service and administrative law soon after he entered the bar. In 1994 he served as a senior lawyer at the U.S. Social Security Administration in the Office of Hearing Operations. That role placed him at the hearing level on disability matters and familiarized him with administrative adjudication processes. He shifted to state agency work over the following decade, holding positions as staff counsel at the California Department of Motor Vehicles in 2000 and senior staff counsel at the California Department of Real Estate in 2004.

Lee expanded his administrative practice within state government as vertical advocate and staff counsel for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in 2006. The next year he became an administrative law judge for the California Department of Social Services, State Hearings Decision, where he issued decisions in contested administrative matters. In 2012 he opened his own practice, the Law Offices of Kelvin K. Lee, identifying Social Security disability and administrative law as the central areas of his work.

Over more than two decades in government service and private practice, Lee handled the mechanics of administrative hearings and the procedural aspects that shape outcomes. He has experience working inside the hearing systems that adjudicate benefits and state agency disputes. That background informs how his office prepares cases and presents evidence before administrative tribunals.

Outside the office he has maintained ties to the legal and local community. He has been a member of the San Gabriel Valley Lawyer Referral Services since 2014 and serves on the governing board of the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California, also since 2014. He has participated on the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce Lawyer Panel since 2013 and has been active in the UCLA Alumni Association since 1994. He also held membership in the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives for 2018–2019.

Lee is licensed to practice in California. He currently operates the Law Offices of Kelvin K. Lee, representing individuals in Social Security disability matters and handling a range of administrative law cases.
