About Kelly

Kelly Peralta trained at Arizona State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree before continuing to the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at ASU. Her legal education provided a foundation in trial practice and statutory analysis, and it led directly into a career that has crossed public policy and private practice.

Her first notable post after law school was as a staff lawyer for the Hawaii State Senate Minority Caucus in 2000. In that role she worked on legislative drafting and advised lawmakers on statutory language and committee procedure. The experience gave her early exposure to the intersection of law and public policy and to the practical demands of advising elected officials under tight deadlines.

Peralta later entered private practice as an associate at Curry, Pearson & Wooten, PLC. She handled a range of civil matters and gained experience in litigation and client counseling. By 2005 she was a partner at Peralta & Associates, LLC, managing a small firm practice and supervising junior attorneys. That period of her career combined courtroom work with the administrative responsibilities of running a boutique firm.

Alongside her firm roles, Peralta has been involved in appellate and federal matters. She is listed as an expert advisor on United States Supreme Court briefs on the merits, a role that involves reviewing complex legal arguments and assisting in the preparation of briefs aimed at the nation's highest court. That advisory work reflects sustained attention to appellate procedure and to the framing of issues for judges rather than juries.

Throughout her career Peralta has been licensed in Arizona and has balanced litigation, appellate advocacy, and legislative advisory work. Her resume shows movement between public sector legal work and private practice, each informing the other. She has taught younger attorneys the mechanics of brief writing and the disciplinary expectations of appellate advocacy while continuing to handle trial-level matters.

Today Peralta practices from an office associated with Curry, Pearson & Wooten, PLC. She continues to accept cases that require both trial experience and appellate insight. Her current practice handles civil litigation and appellate matters in Arizona, combining courtroom representation and the drafting of briefs for higher courts.
