About Kelli Byers
Kelli Byers Hooper combined an unusual mix of training before she ever set foot in a courtroom. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Denver, followed by a Master of Arts in Public Health from UCLA, and then a J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. That academic path gave her legal training and a view of family issues that stretches beyond statutes and case law.
Her private practice career has been built inside family law firms. In 2008 she became a partner at Hooper & Honoré, LLC. She moved on to a partnership at KBH Law in 2016, and in 2018 joined DiPietro Family Law Group as a partner. Those moves mark steady progression rather than sudden leaps. Over time she has taken on increasingly complex cases and the responsibilities that come with firm leadership.
Hooper has been active in professional organizations for years. She has served as Co-Chair of the Child Support Committee in the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association since 2012. She is the Secretary of the Family Law Section for the American Association for Justice, a role she took on in 2016. She also sits on the Foundation Board of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and she holds memberships in both the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Georgia Association of Black Women Lawyers. Those roles have kept her engaged with the practical and administrative side of family law practice.
Her day-to-day work covers the familiar terrain of domestic relations. She represents clients in divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, child support matters, and modifications of court orders. She appears in state court and prepares the paperwork and arguments that family law litigation demands. She handles both negotiated settlements and contested hearings.
Colleagues and clients often notice how her public health training influences her approach. She pays attention to how legal outcomes affect household stability, child welfare, and long-term well-being. That perspective shows up in case strategy, settlement planning, and the questions she pursues in discovery and at hearings.
Since joining DiPietro Family Law Group as a partner in 2018, she continues to represent individuals in family law matters across Georgia. Her current practice concentrates on family law matters, including child support, custody, and divorce.
