About Kayla
Kayla Harrington earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Hispanic Studies from Trent University in 2014 and completed her J.D. at Texas A&M University School of Law in 2017. Her academic path crossed two countries and two systems of study. The years in school gave her the legal tools and a sense for cultural context that she carries into her work.
Harrington began practicing in Texas shortly after law school. Her first position was with the Bob Leonard Law Group in 2017. She moved to Bailey & Galyen the following year, and then to Schneider Law Office in 2019. Each stop added different responsibilities and courtroom time. In 2021 she opened her own firm and took on the role of managing lawyer at the Law Office of Kayla E. Harrington.
Her career has been anchored in Texas. Over time she has developed experience handling family law matters. That experience is reflected in sustained involvement with local and national groups that concentrate on family court work. She has been a member of the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association since 2017 and joined the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts in 2022.
Professional associations form a steady part of her practice life. She is a member of the Texas Aggie Bar Association and the Tarrant County Family Bar Association. She also holds membership in the Texas Bar College. Those memberships keep her connected to colleagues and to changes in procedure and law.
Colleagues say she applies practical legal judgment to casework. She handles both contested and uncontested matters and prepares for hearings and mediations. She writes pleadings, negotiates settlements and represents clients at court when needed. Her day-to-day work includes client intake, case planning and courtroom advocacy. She places emphasis on clear communication and on explaining options so clients know what to expect at each stage.
In private practice she oversees case strategy and the operation of her office. The Law Office of Kayla E. Harrington, PLLC reflects her move into leadership and client-facing practice management. She continues to appear in Texas family courts and works with local bar organizations on professional development. She currently focuses her practice on family law matters in Texas.
