About Katie

Katie VanDeusen built a steady legal path from undergraduate study into private practice. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Classical Civilization and Ancient Studies, with pre-law preparation, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. She then earned her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2011. Those credentials set the stage for a decade-plus career in Illinois courts.

Her first post-law-school role was as an associate at Kamerlink, Stark, McCormack & Powers, LLC, beginning in 2011. She spent the early years developing courtroom experience and familiarity with client work. In 2013 she moved to Grunyk Family Law, where she worked as a lawyer and deepened her experience in family law matters. The move marked a shift from a junior associate role to a position carrying more client responsibility.

In 2018 VanDeusen took on a leadership role as managing partner at Sterling Lawyers, LLC. That position entrusted her with both casework and management duties. Colleagues remember a lawyer who balanced administrative tasks with courtroom preparation. Her career trajectory shows steady advancement from associate to firm leadership in a relatively short span of time.

Her affiliations include long-standing participation in the DuPage County Bar Foundation, where she has been a member since 2013. That membership places her among local practitioners who participate in community and bar-related activities. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and has spent her career working in firms that handle family law and related client needs.

Today she is based at Sterling Hughes, LLC. Her experience at Grunyk Family Law and in firm leadership informs how she approaches cases and manages client relationships. She handles family law matters at Sterling Hughes, LLC and remains active in the local bar foundation.
