About Katie Kiernan

Katie Kiernan Marble combined politics and law in her early studies, earning a B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire before completing a J.D. at American University Washington College of Law in 2007. She moved into practice the same year. Her education set a steady course toward workplace law and corporate employment counseling.

Marble began her legal career as a litigation and employment associate at McLane Middleton in 2007. She launched her own practice in 2013, operating as Marble Employment Law and handling employment matters for regional employers. In 2016 she joined Littler Mendelson as an employment lawyer, and then moved into in-house roles. Her corporate positions include director-level employment roles at Nuance Communications in 2019 and at Pantheon Platform in 2021, where she served as Assistant General Counsel of Global Employment Law. In 2022 she took on the role of Managing Director, Global Employment at modCounsel.

Her work has tracked a shift that many employment attorneys make: from courtroom and firm practice to in-house compliance, policy and risk management. She has experience on both sides of employer representation, advising on workplace policy, leaves and accommodations, wage and hour questions, discrimination claims and regulatory compliance. That mix of firm-side litigation and corporate counseling informs how she approaches preventive advice and internal investigations.

Marble holds two professional certifications that reflect an in-house trajectory: a Mini MBA for In-House Counsel from the Association of Corporate Counsel and a completion certificate from the TLC Leaders Program at The Leadership Consortium. She has also taken on leadership roles in professional organizations. She chaired the Labor & Employment Law Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association from 2015 to 2016 and served as Legislative Chair for the Greater Nashua Human Resources Association from 2011 to 2016. Since 2018 she has been on the board of the Pope Memorial Humane Society.

She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. That licensing allows her to advise employers and companies that operate across state lines while handling local regulatory and statutory nuances. Colleagues describe her as steady and practical in handling workplace disputes and policy development.

Marble’s career reflects steady movement into global employment work, combining early litigation experience and later corporate counseling roles. She currently practices employment law at modCounsel, concentrating on global employment matters.
