About Kathleen M
Kathleen M Hyneman earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1989 after completing her legal studies beginning in the mid-1980s. She entered the profession at a time when corporate law was contending with rapid technological and regulatory change. Her education provided a foundation in corporate and transactional principles that shaped the path she would follow.
Hyneman began her legal career in 1989 as an associate in the corporate department at Saul Ewing LLP. She worked on transactional matters and gained experience advising corporate clients. In 1994 she moved in-house to Comcast Corporation, taking the role of deputy general counsel. The shift from law firm practice to corporate counsel gave her daily exposure to deal work, regulatory questions and internal governance issues.
By 1999 Hyneman had advanced to general counsel at Comcast Interactive Capital. In that position she handled legal matters tied to investments and emerging digital businesses. Her responsibilities included negotiating agreements, overseeing compliance matters and supporting business development. That period coincided with the dot-com era and the early years of widespread online services, and her work reflected the legal complexities of that era.
In 2016 she founded KHNETIC Legal Counsel and became its managing partner. The move returned her to an advisory and leadership role outside a single corporate employer. At KHNETIC she has advised clients on corporate and transactional matters. Her practice draws on decades of in-house experience and earlier law firm training. She has received a recognition titled Excellence in Corporate and Transactional Law from Lawyers of Distinction.
Hyneman holds membership in the American Bar Association and the Chester County Bar Association, both listings indicating active participation since 2016. She is licensed in Pennsylvania. Her career shows a steady progression from associate to senior in-house counsel and then to law firm founder and manager.
Her background positions her to advise on corporate governance, transactional documentation and regulatory compliance. She approaches matters with the instincts formed by years working inside corporations and advising external clients. She continues to practice through KHNETIC Legal Counsel, where her work centers on corporate and transactional law.
