About Kathleen A
Kathleen A Spero earned her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2008, where she studied immigration law. She completed her undergraduate work in 1999 at San Diego State University, majoring in Political Science and International Security and Conflict Resolution. Her academic background combines legal training and an interest in the political and international dimensions of migration.
After law school, Spero moved into private practice in California. Over time she built a practice that centers on immigration matters and the procedural and policy questions that accompany them. She has handled client matters in state and federal contexts and has worked with administrative agencies that manage immigration adjudications.
Spero has also taken on a teaching role. She has served as an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, bringing practical courtroom and office experience into the classroom. Students have encountered a practitioner who can explain how statutory texts and regulations translate into day-to-day advocacy and filings.
Her office practice is conducted out of the Law Office of Kathleen Spero. There she meets with individuals and families to assess eligibility, prepare paperwork, and represent clients in hearings and communications with government agencies. She has worked with a variety of clients living and working in California and focuses on resolving procedural problems and advancing long-term immigration goals.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and attentive to procedural detail. She places emphasis on clear client communication and on making complex rules understandable. In client matters she combines interviews, records gathering, and written submissions to present each case. In hearings she presents factual narratives and legal arguments designed to support the desired immigration outcome.
Outside the office she has remained connected to the legal community in California. She participates in professional events and has engaged in the educational aspects of the bar through her adjunct teaching. Her work reflects an interest in the intersection of law and public policy as it affects individual lives and families.
She is licensed to practice law in California and operates from the Law Office of Kathleen Spero. She currently practices immigration law and handles matters for clients in California.
