About Katherine
Katherine Levine earned her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2008, after beginning studies in 2005. Her time in law school overlapped with early hands-on work in Cook County, an experience that shaped her understanding of courtroom practice and the mechanics of local prosecutions.
She served as an Assistant State's Lawyer at the Cook County State Lawyer's Office in 2006. That role placed her on the prosecutorial side of criminal matters and gave her regular courtroom exposure. She later moved into private practice, taking on both trial and advisory work that built on the procedural knowledge she developed in public service.
In 2015 she became managing partner of Levine Law LLC, leading a small firm that handled a range of criminal defense matters. Four years later she joined FisherLevine Law Group LLP as a partner. The move brought her into a larger practice setting and expanded the range of cases and processes she handles.
Levine is admitted to practice in Illinois and in the Federal Circuit. She holds memberships in professional groups that reflect an ongoing interest in criminal defense practice. She has been a member of the Advocates Society since 2016 and joined the American Association of Premier DUI Lawyers in 2017. Those affiliations have kept her connected to peers who handle DUI and related criminal matters.
Her background includes courtroom work on both sides of the docket. Early prosecutorial assignments gave her experience in case preparation, witness examination and trial procedure. In private practice she has taken on defense work that often involves negotiation, evidentiary hearings and trial advocacy. Colleagues describe her approach as straightforward and attentive to procedural detail.
In practice she balances casework and firm management. At FisherLevine she handles trials and pretrial strategy while contributing to case intake and mentoring junior lawyers. She appears in Illinois courts and is authorized to practice in the Federal Circuit. She currently concentrates on criminal defense and DUI matters in Illinois and in federal courts, including the Federal Circuit.
