About Kate

Kate Stone built her legal foundation in Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006 and received her Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2011. Those academic years set the stage for a steady climb through courtroom and office roles.

Her earliest legal job came in 2006, when she worked as an administrative assistant and legal secretary at the Law Office of Abe Factor. That entry-level position gave her practical exposure to case files and courtroom procedures. After law school she joined the Law Office of John Stickels as an associate lawyer in 2011. Two years later she moved into partnership at Robinson Kardonsky and Stone, a step that expanded her responsibilities in case management and client counseling.

In 2015 Stone took on the title of managing lawyer at Stone Law, P.C., running day-to-day operations while handling a docket of cases. In 2018 she worked as a family law lawyer at the Law Office of Bryan Hoeller. Her career path shows movement between solo or small-firm leadership roles and positions inside established practices, which has given her experience on both sides of firm administration.

Stone is a member of several professional groups. She joined the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association in 2012 and remains active there. She also became a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2012. Her admission to practice law was granted by the Texas Supreme Court, allowing her to handle matters in the state of Texas.

Her practice has covered family law and criminal defense matters. Colleagues and clients over the years have encountered her in divorce and custody disputes, and in criminal cases that touch on state-level procedure and defense strategy. The mix of civil family work and criminal defense has shaped the kind of courtroom experience she brings to each client.

Today she is part of Hoeller McLaughlin, PLLC, where she continues to represent clients in Texas. She maintains active memberships in local and state bar groups and carries a caseload that reflects both family law and criminal defense work.

She currently focuses her practice on family law and criminal defense matters.
