About Kate J

Kate J Fitzpatrick took a direct route into the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University in 1997 and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2005. Those academic years framed an early interest in workplace issues and dispute resolution that would shape her professional life.

After finishing law school, Fitzpatrick established herself in Massachusetts. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is also admitted before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Those credentials have allowed her to handle matters that range from state-level administrative proceedings to appellate filings at the federal level.

Her professional memberships include the Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She remains active in those organizations and participates in continuing legal education programs and professional events. Colleagues describe her as methodical in the preparation of cases and straightforward in courtroom presentation.

Fitzpatrick’s career has centered on employment law. She has worked on workplace disputes, counseling matters, and litigation that touches on employment contracts, discrimination claims, and wage-and-hour issues. On occasion that work requires navigating agency processes before moving into state or federal court. She prepares pleadings, conducts discovery, argues motions, and represents clients at trial and on appeal when matters progress that far.

Her approach to cases is practical. She evaluates risk, explains options in plain terms, and recommends strategies that reflect the client’s interests and the realities of litigation. That pragmatic stance guides settlement discussions as often as it guides courtroom strategy.

In recent years Fitzpatrick has continued to split time between advisory work and contested matters. She represents both employers and employees, depending on the engagement, and adjusts her role to the needs of each client. Her work includes drafting workplace policies, conducting internal investigations, and defending or prosecuting claims in court and before administrative bodies.

As of 2026 she practices as an employment lawyer, handling workplace disputes and related litigation.
