About Kate Bowles
Kate Bowles Miller studied public relations and business administration at West Virginia Wesleyan College before turning to law. She earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. The mix of communication, business and legal training shaped how she approaches client matters: pragmatic, attentive to detail and aware of the financial aspects that often accompany family disputes.
Miller practices in North Carolina and is associated with the firm Miller Bowles Cushing. Her career path moved from classroom to courtroom and mediation room. Over time she has built a practice that sits squarely in the family law arena, handling matters that require both legal judgment and an understanding of practical domestic finance.
She is board certified in Family Law by the North Carolina State Bar. That credential identifies attorneys who have met specific testing and experience thresholds in the family law field. In addition, she holds certification as a Family Financial Mediator from the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. That training equips her to help separate the legal issues from the financial numbers when couples work toward settlement outside of a trial.
