About Karen

Ms. Roberts earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Colorado in 1985. Following her graduation, she worked as a broadcast journalist for NBC television affiliates in Colorado and Nevada. This experience in journalism developed her communication skills and provided her with a unique perspective on the legal issues affecting individuals and communities. After several years in this field, she decided to pivot towards law, pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Utah School of Law. She graduated in 1994, demonstrating her dedication to academic excellence. During her time in law school, Ms. Roberts was selected to serve on the Utah Law Review, where she contributed to the scholarly discussion of legal issues.

Her academic achievements were recognized when she received the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Writing and Research, as well as for Constitutional Law. These accolades underscored her strong analytical skills and her ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively. Upon entering the legal profession, Ms. Roberts joined her brothers, Randy and Bruce, at the Roberts & Roberts Law Firm in Tyler, Texas. Since then, she has dedicated her practice to representing individuals injured by unsafe practices and products. Her focus on personal injury law has allowed her to advocate for clients who have suffered due to negligence. Spending the majority of her time preparing cases for trial, she has developed a reputation for thoroughness and tenacity. Ms.

Roberts is licensed to practice in all Texas courts and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. This lets the attorney represent clients in many legal matters. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Roberts is actively involved in several professional organizations. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the East Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Her commitment to the legal community is further demonstrated by her service on the Board of Trustees for the American Association for Justice’s National College of Advocacy. Currently, she serves on The American Association for Justice Press Advisory Committee, where she contributes her insights and expertise to enhance the organization’s outreach and effectiveness.

In recognition of her legal acumen, Ms. Roberts has been selected to Super Lawyers in both 2024 and 2025. This honor reflects her standing among her peers and her commitment to providing top-quality legal services.
