Karen L. Lynch is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1992. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Lynch is of counsel at McCormick Barstow LLP, a full-service law firm located in Fresno, California. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout the Central Valley and surrounding regions.
Ms. Lynch earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law, where she graduated in 1990. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at California State University, Fresno, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1981 and a Master of Arts in Psychology in 1989. During her time at CSU Fresno, she was involved in Psi Chi, Delta Theta Phi, and Blue Key honor societies.
Ms. Lynch concentrates her practice in civil litigation, representing clients in areas such as professional negligence, bodily injury, personal injury (including defamation), breach of contract, construction defects, employment disputes, agricultural issues (crop loss), products liability, guardianships, conservatorships, environmental law, and pet adoptions. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lynch has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Fresno, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She has also appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining McCormick Barstow LLP in 2020, she founded and managed her own firm, Karen L. Lynch, Inc., a Professional Law Corporation, from 2008 to 2016. She has also served as a Pro Tempore Judicial Officer for the Fresno County Superior Court for small claims and occasional settlement conferences since 1998.
Ms. Lynch is an active member of several professional organizations, including the California Women Lawyers, Fresno County Women Lawyers, Fresno County Bar Association (serving as Chair from 2022 to the present), and the Federal Bar Association. She has been recognized with the Fresno County Women Lawyers’ Pauline Hanson Award in 2004 for extraordinary service to the community and the legal profession, and the Fresno County Young Lawyers’ Judge Blaine Pettitt Mentor award in 2005. She is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Ms. Lynch is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of the Central Valley effectively.
