About Kammie

Kammie Cuneo built a path from laboratory notebooks to legal briefs. Her early academic work in statistical physics gave her a technical foundation. She later turned that training toward law, earning a J.D. and moving into intellectual property practice.

She completed a Master of Science in Statistical Physics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2008. Six years later she earned her law degree from The George Washington University Law School in 2014. The combination of a rigorous science degree and a Washington, D.C., law education set the stage for patent and IP work.

Cuneo is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is licensed to practice in Idaho, Colorado and the District of Columbia. She is a member of Thomas P. Howard LLC, where she works with clients on matters that intersect technology and the law.

Her professional involvement extends beyond client work. She serves on the board of the Colorado IP American Inn of Court, helping organize programs and mentoring younger practitioners. In Idaho she has held leadership roles in the bar. She previously served as chairman of the Idaho State Bar Intellectual Property Section and served on the board of the Idaho Pro Bono Commission. Those positions put her in contact with trial attorneys, patent practitioners and public-interest advocates.

Colleagues describe her background as useful in technical cases. The statistical physics training supports analysis of complex inventions. The USPTO registration allows her to represent inventors in patent prosecution. She also handles other intellectual property matters that arise for businesses working with new technologies.

Cuneo’s career follows a steady logic: technical study, formal legal training, then practice centered on intellectual property. She divides time between client counseling, filings before the patent office and matters that require understanding of both scientific detail and legal precedent. She remains active in bar and professional groups that focus on IP topics and pro bono access.

She currently practices intellectual property law, representing clients before the USPTO and in matters across Idaho, Colorado and the District of Columbia.
