About Kaitlyn Bognato
Kaitlyn Bognato Statile earned her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2010. She is licensed to practice in Florida and began her legal career soon after finishing law school.
Her first position was as a prosecutor in the 6th Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office beginning in 2010. In that role she worked in trial settings and handled responsibilities typical of a state prosecutor. The experience gave her regular courtroom exposure and a foundation in case preparation and advocacy.
In 2014 she moved into private practice at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. That shift broadened her experience beyond the public sector and introduced her to civil practice and firm-based litigation workflows. Two years later she joined Outlier Legal Services as a lawyer, where she continued to develop practical skills in advising clients and managing matters for a range of parties.
Statile later joined Carlson, Meissner, Hayslett P.A., where she is currently on staff. Her path from prosecutor to firm lawyer reflects a mix of government and private practice perspectives. Colleagues describe her work as steady and detail oriented. She has built a career around courtroom work, client counseling and the day-to-day tasks of litigation practice.
She maintains current memberships in professional associations and stays active in the legal community. That involvement has kept her connected to peers across Florida and provided access to continuing legal education and practice updates.
Outside of courtroom hours, Statile’s background in both prosecution and private firm work informs how she evaluates cases and advises clients. She applies procedural knowledge gained as a state lawyer to the realities of firm practice. Her trajectory illustrates a common career arc for lawyers who begin in public service and transition into private practice.
Today she practices law at Carlson, Meissner, Hayslett P.A., working from the firm’s Florida offices. Her practice addresses matters presented to the firm and she remains licensed and active in Florida law. She currently focuses her practice on handling matters across the firm’s practice areas in Florida.
