About Kaitlin
Kaitlin Johnson earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2021 after completing a B.A. at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2019. Law school years included coursework in procedure and evidence and practical training opportunities that shaped her early approach to practice. She arrived in Colorado at the start of her legal career and has built her professional life in the state where she is licensed to practice.
After graduating, Johnson entered practice and steadily added courtroom experience and casework. In 2024 she joined Colorado Legal Defense Group as an associate. Her role at the firm has involved pieces of litigation work that associates often handle: drafting motions, preparing discovery, meeting with clients, and assisting on trial preparation. Colleagues describe her as methodical in organizing case files and attentive in client interviews.
Johnson’s work has given her regular exposure to courtroom procedures and the cadence of state-level practice. She has spent time on preliminary hearings and motion practice, and she has supported trial teams in assembling exhibits and witness preparation. The tasks have required close coordination with senior attorneys, local courts, and clients. She has focused on building practical skills that attorneys rely on during contested proceedings.
Her practice sits inside a firm that maintains several Colorado offices. She works out of Colorado Legal Defense Group’s locations, including offices in Colorado Springs and Loveland. That geographic footprint allows her to handle matters across different local jurisdictions and to stay familiar with the varying practices of county courts.
Outside of everyday casework, Johnson continues to engage in professional development and local legal communities. She was a law student when she took on clinic work and participated in moot court activities, experiences that informed how she approaches courtroom advocacy as an associate. She keeps current on procedural developments relevant to litigation practice.
