About K. Dean
K. Dean Kantaras studied at the University of South Florida before earning his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1992. He entered the profession at a time when family law in Florida was evolving rapidly. His educational path combined a regional undergraduate background with a law degree from outside the state, a route that has shaped how he approaches practice in Florida courts.
He began serving as managing partner of K. Dean Kantaras, P.A. in 1993. That early leadership role came shortly after law school and marked the start of a steady practice life. In 2004 he took on the managing partner role at Kantaras & Andreopoulos. Over the years he has moved between firm roles and maintained a presence in the courtroom and the conference room alike.
Kantaras is Board Certified in Marital & Family Law by The Florida Bar. That certification signals formal recognition of expertise in marriage dissolution, custody, support and related family matters under Florida law. He also holds memberships in several professional organizations that reflect a broad legal network: the Clearwater Bar Association Family Law Section, the Florida Bar Family Law Section, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and the Canakaris American Inn of Court.
