About K. C.

K. C. Connealy grew up academically focused and left the University of Kansas with three degrees by 2004. He earned a B.A. in political science in 2000, then returned to KU to complete both a J.D. and an M.B.A. in 2004. The combination of law and business schooling shaped an early interest in matters that cross legal and commercial lines.

After law school, Connealy began practicing in the Kansas City area. In 2005 he was an associate at Walters Bender Strohbehn & Vaughan, P.C., a role that placed him in litigation and transactional settings. That early period provided courtroom exposure and client work that touched municipal, corporate, and regulatory angles. He handled research, brief writing and client counseling as part of team-based litigation and transactional assignments.

Connealy is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He maintains memberships in a range of local and state bar organizations, including the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association and the Johnson County Bar Association. He also holds membership in the Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund, an affiliation that signals an interest in matters related to government accountability and whistleblower enforcement.

He practices from an office under the name Gaughan & Connealy. Over time his work has balanced courtroom matters and negotiated solutions. He prepares motions and briefs, represents clients in hearings and mediations, and assists businesses and individuals with compliance and transactional needs. The dual J.D./M.B.A. background informs how he approaches complex problems. He tends to analyze both legal risk and business consequences when advising clients.

Colleagues and contacts describe him as practical and methodical. He takes on case development and client intake personally and often handles the detailed work of litigation preparation. Outside the office he remains involved in local bar activities and professional education events. He continues to accept matters in his admitted jurisdictions and to appear in federal court in the Western District of Missouri.

Connealy currently practices at Gaughan & Connealy, where his work concentrates on litigation, regulatory matters and business-related legal issues.
