About Justin R.
Justin R. McCarthy built his path to the law in New England. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western New England College and went on to receive a J.D. from Roger Williams University. Those years shaped his approach to legal work: careful, exacting and grounded in practical problem solving.
Early in his career McCarthy translated classroom learning into courtroom and office practice. He moved from study to client work, taking on the responsibilities that come with advising people and organizations. He learned the rhythms of litigation and negotiation, the deadlines and the paperwork, and how those rhythms affect the people involved.
Colleagues describe him as thorough. He is the kind of lawyer who reads an entire file, then reads it again. That habit shows up in how he prepares for hearings and how he communicates options to clients. He favors clarity in writing and plain language in client conversations. He also values process: what needs to happen next, who must act, and when.
His legal training at Roger Williams provided a foundation in substantive law and advocacy. The undergraduate experience at Western New England College gave him a broader liberal arts frame: an ability to consider problems from different angles and to ask practical questions before leaping to solutions. Together, those institutions informed a pragmatic approach to legal work.
Throughout his practice, McCarthy has balanced casework with client counseling. He tends to approach matters by identifying immediate needs, then mapping a course forward. That method helps manage expectations. It also keeps clients informed about how a matter might unfold, what risks exist and what realistic outcomes to expect.
Outside the office he stays connected to the legal community in informal ways, through professional contacts and peer networks. He reads appellate decisions and industry news to stay current. He also mentors newer attorneys on the nuts and bolts of daily practice: calendaring, discovery habits and courtroom preparation.
Today McCarthy continues to practice law. He brings the same steady, detail-oriented approach that guided his earlier work to his current practice. He currently practices law.
