About Justin R.
Justin R. Heim trained as a historian before turning to law. He earned his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012 and holds a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University San Marcos. Those academic choices set the stage for a practice rooted in litigation and courtroom procedure.
Heim began his legal career as an associate at Napoli Shkolnik in 2012. He worked on cases there that brought him regular exposure to plaintiff-side litigation and trial preparation. The early years at a larger plaintiff firm gave him hands-on courtroom experience and a steady docket of contested matters.
In 2017 he opened his own office and took the title of principal. The move allowed him to build a practice that reflected the courtroom work and client contact he had gravitated toward as an associate. Running his own firm required shifting from lawyering alone to managing a practice, overseeing filings, and setting litigation strategy across multiple matters.
Heim completed the Plaintiffs Trial Lawyer Academy through the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. That program is aimed at skills for courtroom advocacy and trial tactics. He is active in professional organizations that align with his courtroom work. His memberships include the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (since 2017), Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (since 2018), Consumer Lawyers of California (since 2019), the American Bar Association (since 2013), and the San Diego North County Bar Association (since 2012). Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with plaintiff-oriented bar groups and regional legal communities.
He is licensed to practice in California and has maintained contacts across Southern California legal circles. Over time his work has concentrated on preparing cases for trial, working closely with clients through discovery, and presenting arguments in contested hearings. He divides his time between case preparation and courtroom advocacy, and he continues to participate in trial-focused education and bar activities.
He handles cases through the Law Offices of Justin R Heim, APC, where he manages plaintiff-side litigation and court appearances. His current practice centers on representing consumers and pursuing trial litigation on behalf of plaintiffs.
