About Justin

Justin Murray earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003 and completed his J.D. at The University of Houston Law Center in 2007. He moved from classroom to practice at a moment when intellectual property law was becoming more central to technology and business strategy. His academic years gave him a foundation in that broader legal landscape and prepared him for admission to professional practice.

Early in his career he served as an associate at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP. There he worked in a large-firm environment on matters that required coordination across technical, legal and business teams. The position exposed him to the mechanics of patent-related work and to procedures for handling complex filings and client counseling in environments that often blend corporate and litigation concerns.

Murray is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is licensed in Texas. Those admissions allow him to represent clients on matters before the Patent Office and to advise on state-level legal issues that touch on intellectual property. His credentials reflect the pathway many attorneys take when they combine a technical understanding of innovation-driven industries with the procedural rules that govern patent practice.

Throughout his time in private practice he has worked on patent-related matters and the aspects of counseling that support those disputes and transactions. He has experience drafting and prosecuting filings and communicating with examiners. He has also assisted clients in preparing technical disclosures and in navigating the procedural steps that follow a filing. The work requires blending detailed technical descriptions with legal arguments, and it often involves close coordination with inventors, engineers and corporate counsel.

Today Murray continues to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He handles matters that arise at the intersection of innovation and law, helping clients protect intellectual property through filings and procedural advocacy. His current practice concentrates on intellectual property matters before the USPTO and related legal work in Texas.
